NaNoWriMo

Hi everyone,

In a good mood tonight :-)
Just wrote another 2000 words on Magical World and chapter 5 is close to be finished. Awesome...

I joined the NaNoWriMo, and for those of you who don't know what that is, here's a translation and an explanation.
NaNoWriMo means National Novel Writing Month.
All over the world, people join and write. We post little excerpts, give pep talks etc. The goal is to write 50,000 words in one month (November)
I just heard about this two days ago and only join then, so obviously I won't reach the 50,000 words before November 30. But, I do enjoy having a place where I can see the progress of my work in the form of statistics etc. It's rather fun really :-)
I have written 31,387 words already - not all of them in November though so I'm a bit of a cheat actually - LOL

And guess what? It's snowing in Denmark - Absolutely fantastic. I just love snow. It gets me in such good mood :-) Everything seem beautiful and even though it is wet and cold, it doesn't matter cause it's so pretty.

That was it for now - short but lovely :-)

XOXO

The future!

I just got fired from my great job :-( So sad, cause I have so many nice colleagues that I'm going to miss an awful lot. Thankfully, I don't have to stop until the end of February. I'm only a temp so I knew I had to stop, and now I'm just stopping a little earlier.
I feel sad for all my colleagues, who might have been with Vestas for many years, who lost their jobs yesterday. It is so awful when a big company has to fire so many employees.

But, I'm going to turn this around and look at it as an opportunity instead of something bad. I'm going to see if I can't get a job that has to do with books, writing and maybe even publishing. It could be extremely cool if I could get a job at a publishing house or something like that. I don't even care if all I have to do is get coffee and make copies - for a while!

Magical World is coming along pretty well. Just started on chapter fiv,e and I'm going to love writing this chapter. I'm going to introduce a lot of new funny characters who will all have their own purpose in the book. This second book in the Magical Moon series is going to be amazing :-)
I can't wait to finish it and hopefully get it published.

And how are things going with Magical Moon?
Well, slow! I still haven't heard from three agencies so now I'm going to find about ten new agencies to mail it to and hope for the best.
I will just go over chapter one, one more time and see if I can't make it even better.
And then I'm going to take another look at my sales pitch. Maybe it needs a little polish too...

Well, that's it for now.

Copyright!

Wow, copyright is a jungle.... I've been looking into it the last hour now, and it seems that copyright is not the same in every country. So I guess, since I'm a Danish citizen, I'll have to follow the Danish rules??? Or what? Because Denmark is part of the EU and it seems they have some differnt rules!!
And what if I get an American agent and get published in America? What then? Which rules to follow??? Like I said - a jungle!
But, I don't have an agent yet, and I'm not published yet either, so I guess I don't have to worry about that just yet. Or do I? Because I have already published the title of the first two books here on this blog and since I don't have a copyright... well I guess anyone can just take it if they want... So, how do you copyright just the title?? Darn it! What to do?
If you have any ideas, please let me know.

So, did all of you have a scary halloween?
I went to see Paranormal Activity 1 and 2 not long ago, and I'm telling you, I got scared!!! I have never seen - and never will see - scary movies like that again! I got so scared I actually screamed in the theather a one point.

And how are things going with Magical World? Well, chapter four is halfway done and I'm hoping to finish it during next week.

I finished Chris Marie Green's Vampire Babylon series today. Amazing books. I hope to become just as good a write. Chris is my heroine :-)
I'm starting to read another series tonight: The Gardella Vampire Chronicles by Colleen Gleason. I'm real excited about getting started on that series. It sounds great. I'll let you know if I like it :-)

Till next time

Chapter three, done!

I was beginning to feel a little panic in my last post. I've been struggling with chapter three (not two as I wrote), but suddenly, it all came to me, and I finished it in two days. Fantastic!
I feel incredibly relieved...
I think the reason this particular chapter was so tough on me was that I had to dig into my own feelings to write something that emotional. I want the readers to really feel what Holly is going through, to feel the emotions, the tension, the loss she is feeling, like they are experiencing it all on their own body. I want them to feel the atmosphere, the nescessity of her actions.
I think, I pulled it off pretty well, but of course it will need to be reveiwed before it's perfect.
My freind Gitte read the first rough edition - and she loved it - thank goodness :-)

Now, chapter four is next, but that chapter will be much easier, funnier and lighter than the last - we need that after such a heavy, dark chapter. I will love writing this next chapter.

I have so many great ideas for book two in the Magical Moon series. Exciting new characters, amazing new places and hair-raising adventures are what's going to dominate this other book, a book I have decided to call "Magical World"

I hope you won't have to wait too long to read them. Hopefully, an agent will come along soon and love them as much as I do.

Till next time

Mental Block???

Oh boy...

I've been dancing around chapter two for weeks now... Why is that? Why is it that some chapters are harder to write than others?
I just want to forget about that one for a while and start writing on some of the other chapters. Maybe if I do that, the inspiration for this one will suddenly come back.
I know what I want to write in this chapter, however, I can't seem to get it "down on paper."
So, do I have some kind of a mental block?? - Perhaps.
Will I get over it?? - Absolutely.... And if not automatically, my willpower is so strong that I will fight my way through this!!

But I haven't been doing nothing. I have been doing a lot of research. OMG! It's so funny. I've been looking for inspiration about castles, medieval weapons etc. It's a whole world of it's own.

My magical world is really beginning to come to life. Once I get it down on paper, it will be amazing :-) I have no doubt about it...
Now I just have to get the agents and the publishers to believe it too :-)

'Till next time.

XOXO

Magical Moon 2

I just had an operation. I have a huge wound across my belly so I can't do much but lie/sit on the sofa. :-(
There is, however, an upside to this sick leave of mine and that is that I have a lot of time to think about and write on Magical Moon 2.

I'm almost done with chapter two. It's quite dark and I feel so extremely sorry for Jayden. I'm putting him through hell in this book.

Holly is going to meet some very interesting people/creatures during her trip to Vaillëz where she is going to try to save Jayden and his mother from his evil father.

I had a professional editor look at the first chapter of MM. She was fascinated and loved the story but she believed there were some fundamental problems with it such as the formulation. I hadn't expected anything less since this is my first book, but I still hope that there are someone out there who is going to love the story and want to publish it - after a good editing!

My vampire book is coming along pretty well too - chapter one is almost done. It's not going to be quite as long as the Magical Moon books but long enough. Maybe I should consider writing some novels??? It may be easier to get those published... who knows?

Well, this was it for now, just a small update. I feel the medicine working and my eyelids getting heavy. Bye for now...

How is it going?

Might some of you be thinking - Well, you and me both... I've been turned down three times now, which really isn't much considering what I'm expecting, and I'm still waiting for an answer from three other agencies. I'm not expecting much, but I'm not giving up either. I'm going to get my books published!!!

So, what am I doing in the meantime??
Well, as I wrote in my last post, I'm working on Magical Moon 2. Lately, I've been really tired when I've come home from work, and with all the house/kids work as well, I haven't had much energy left for writing. It makes me so sad that I haven't been able to write much, but what can I do, I can't split myself into multiple peole and do many things at once.

Writing takes some concentration, and when you're exhausted, the writing suffers... Instead of writing every night, I have been concentrating on only writing whenever I was up for it - when I just couldn't keep my hands away from the computer, and my brain became so full of thoughts, I just had to write them down.
So far, MM2 has just about two hole chapters in total - I'm jumping a little back and forth. Chapter one is completely done, ch two is about half done and so is ch four.

So it's coming along pretty good, considering my lack of energy lately. Hopefully, it will return after my operation on Thursday... No more pain I hope!!!

Buuuut, it's not just all "bad" news! :-) I am, as most of my readers may know, a vampire freak. The other night, just when I was about to fall asleep, I got a brilliant idea for a new book (It's funny why I get my best ideas just when I'm about to fall asleep!)
And yes, I have started writing it. I just couldn't help myself, and it is turning out to become an amazing and different vampire story! I'm even trying out a new way of writing. In this book, I'm not using the I-person as I have in Magical Moon but is telling it from a third persons view - and it works perfectly!
I am dying to tell you the title of this book because I think it's fantastic, but a friend of mine told me to be careful and think about copyright! So sorry guys, you'll have to wait :-(

Those of you who love a good vampire story, will love this one with its unique twist :-) Trust me!!!

Well, this was it for now, my fingers are itching to getting back to work :-)

Second book in the Magical Moon series

I've just shipped Magical Moon off to six different agencies. I've already heard from two of them who immediately responded after reading the sales pich/query letter that it wasn't what they were looking for at the moment. But that doesn't matter - nothing I hadn't expected anyway!

It is all very exciting and I keep checking my mail several times a day, just in case, you know. Wouldn't want to miss anything - but so far, just the two turn-downs...

And yes, as you may have guessed from the title of this post, I have started on the sequel to Magical Moon. Just putting last hand on chapter one, and I'm loving it already.

The other night I stayed up half the night because I was so caught up in writing the synopsis for this second book. I have so many great ideas, and I hope you'll all love this one as much as I hope you'll love Magical Moon.
I think it may actually be better than Magical Moon... from a fantasy perspective that is. Magical Moon has a lot of love in it, this one, will be more about the power and the magical world I have created.
We will get to see Holly from in a more controllable powerful role, and William will be more visible in this one too.
And, I will try to write from different points of views as well, so I think it is safe to say that the second book will be pretty cool - if you ask me!

I plan to write three books in the Magical Moon series, and it is my intention that they're all going to be named Magical (something) - Cool, isn't it?

Anyways! I will write again soon - I promise :-)
BTW, please add yourselves as followers here, it will  make me very happy..

Bye for now.

Literary Agents - hard to get???

I've written, rewritten, corrected, edited and is finally reaching the end - for now anyway. Magical Moon is close to being ready to go out into the world, into the hands of literary agents. Will it pass their high demands? Only time will tell...

I have been searching the Net for information on agents, and boy are there many - think I said that more than once! First you have to find the ones who are actually interested in fantasy. Then you'll have to see if they accept anything for YA (young adults) If you're lucky, the two will match, if not, continue looking! And, some of them don't even accept submittings for the moment + some only accepts from already accepted writers... *BIG SIGH*

But, not to worry. I already have a long list of agents who accept books like Magical Moon. Sunday, the big event will happen. Sunday, I will send out the first queries!!! Yay.... Can't wait to Sunday!

Oh and by the way, I have started on chapter one in the 2. book in the series.... I don't know what to call it yet but I'm sure I'll come up with it sooner or later.

Well, that was it for now. Hope you're all as excited as I am.

The end is near

Finally! We've almost reached the end which means that I now can start looking for a literary agent - so all of you fantasy agents out there, beware... I might be knocking on your e-mail ;-)

But it is a huge jungle... There are so many different agents, and I need to find precisely THE ONE who will love Magical Moon and publish it. So, if you know one, please do not hesitate to let me know :-)

My girls have read the entire book by now, and they LOVE it. I will have to remember to thank them for all their work on my acknowledgments page. They've been a tremendous help in the editing process.

And the second best ting about the end being near is that I now can begin on the follow-up to Magical Moon... Aren't you all excited??? If not, you should be *grinning wide*

Well, I'm off to find myself an agent. Wish me luck :-D

Chris Marie Green

She, along with Faith Hunter, Jeaniene Frost and Karen Chance, is among one of my most favorite writers whom I'd love to some day meet and perhaps compare myself with.
They are amazing writers, if you love the fantasy genre, and I cannot recommend you enough to read some of their books.
Chris with her Babylon serie is deadly fantastic, and I can't wait to read more of her books. Just entered a contest on her website, and if I'm lucky, I might win one of them :-) Buuuut, with my luck, naah...

Enough about other writers and back to what is the most important part - Magical Moon :-D

MM is coming along pretty well. I'm going to finish ch. 15 tonight. That leaves me with only 7 chapters left to edit and send to my amazing friends.
I think I'll be able to keep my "deadline" which is to finish this last round of editing by the end of June / early July. Then I'll use the rest of July to fix the mistakes my friends find, and write a sales pitch I can send along with MM to an agent.
Sounds like a plan?? Yep :-)

Well, if I have to finish ch. 15 by tonight, I should get started. Another update coming up soon :-)

Bye for now..

Revision update

Hello everyone.

I just wanted to let you know that my revision is going great. Today, I've done two chapter + I'm halfway through ch 10. That leaves me with only 11 chapters which I'm sure I'll be able to go through rather quickly becuase the further I get, the better I've written the chapters.

The first 4 or so chapters weren't written that well, and I had to change quite a lot (and probably still do), but from now on, the writing is actually pretty good - in my opinion anyway though I'm not sure how much that actually counts, that being this is only my first book.

So, to set a date for my last revision, part 2, will probably be by the end of June! I will then use July to edit those last grammar/spelling mistakes and rephrasings that my two friends, who are currently reading Magical Moon, have found round about the manuscript.

This leaves me with actually being able to start looking for a literary agent and sending MM to him/her. That is probably the most exciting part of this adventure. I so hope someone will love MM and publish it.

Once I've mailed MM to someone qualified, I can start on the follow-up to MM - I can't wait. I have so many great ideas already.

I hope my two friends who are helping me revising MM will be as quick about it as I am, cause I just want to be done already and move on to the next book (that was a request girls!!)- which I by the way have no name for yet but I'm sure it'll come :-)

That was it for now I guess. Back to MM and continue revising.

XOXO

Long overdue update!

Hi everyone

I'm so sorry I haven't written in a while. I've just been so busy with my new job, birthdays and so on and on. But that is no excuse really!

The job at Vestas at the Technical Training Center is amazing. My colleagues are all very nice people with lots of great humor. Nothing is boring at the office, and with all the men there, the jokes can get somewhat dirty - but I love it *grinning*

The job though, eats into a lot of my energy, and I've been quite tired at night. I have been neglecting Magical Moon and I feel so guilty, but I'd rather skip a couple of days of revising than to write something bad. I need to be completely focused or else it's going to suck, and we don't want that now, do we?

I have involved another of my very good friends in the revising process. She's going to just read the chapters, and then give me her brutally honest opinion on what's good and what needs to be changed. That helps me incredibly much.

I might have found some one who can help me take a great picture to use on the cover. I don't know if it's something he wants to do, but I will ask him nonetheless. He's an amazing photographer. He out of the office the next 3 weeks, but when he gets back, I will talk to him and tell him my idea. I'm sure he can make magic with his camera!!!

That was it for now guys. I promise I will remember to update more often.

Amazing news

I just got a phone call today - and got, unexpectedly, a job :-D
So, from June 1. I start working at Vestas in Videbæk. It is only a temp-job going on 18 months, but it's crazy amazing anyway!!!

This however, will effect my revision progress a little thus I no longer have all day to sit and play with Magical Moon, but I promise I will work hard on it at night and on the weekends :-)

I've also begun to form a synopsis for the follow-up to Magical Moon. The ideas are just swarming around in my head like a group of bees buzzing, waiting to get out... It's going to be even better than Magical Moon with a whole other scene in magical world!!!
I can't wait to get started...

And the kittens are beginning to get eyes now.. aw! They are so impossibly cute...
Well, gotta go, ch. 5 is waiting impatiently for me :-)

XOXO

Spring

Along with spring came kittens :-)

One of  my cats gave birth to four cute adorable kittens this Tuesday morning. I assisted, which was very odd because I didn't think I would have been able to, and everything went almost smooth.

They are now squirming around with no eyes complaining when they cannot find a nipple to suck on :-) they demand a lot of attention from their mother, and I'm amazed how well she's handling this.

I have mailed ch. 3 to my friend, and is starting on ch 4 today. I needed a couple of days rest, but is now back to work. Have I said how difficult it is to revise? Well, it is! I'd much rather work on the next book instead of using so much time revising. Writing is much more fun than revising!!

I hope I/we'll be done revising after the holidays so I can move on to finding someone to represent  me. I would love to get Magical Moon published by Harper teen or ROC fantasy-Penguin group. Wouldn't that be awesome! Buuuut that'll probably not happen :-) Yet I can hope, can't I...

Hugs,
Annette

Words words words

Words... They can be such a pain in the ... !

I'm almost done with the cutting and rewriting of chapter 2 but the last two pages are making me insane. They're gibberish - a waste of space really!
I'm thinking of just cutting them out entirely instead of trying to rephrace something that doesn't work in the first place.

Did i mention that revising is a pain??? Well let me just say it again - it sucks!!!
I wish I could just write and let someone else do the rest of the work - it'd be so much easier.

Last night, I read an incredible article on http://www.magicalwords.net/ by Stuart Jaffe on how to revise dialogues. He gave such good advice.
I think I've mentioned it before but I'm totally in love with this website. (if that's even possible) I learn so much from the writers that keep that site.
They're all pros and I'm glad they feel the need to share their experience with the rest of us - who may or may not know what we're doing - lol...

Today's my son's birthday - 11 years old can you imagine that? It feel just like yesterday I was pregnant. How time flies.
He's decided we're going to McDonalds tonight for dinner and as the loving mother I am, I indulge him! It is after all only his birthday once a year.

Well, got to go. I want to finish that chapter before it drives me crazy.

The agony of revising

So I've been through round one of revising, checking only basic stuff, worst spelling, gramma and such and have now moved on to cutting, rewriting and editing.

Wow, it's hard work. It's taken me two whole days just to go through chapter 1 but now, I think I'm ready to let go of it and send it across the Atlantic to my good Canadian friend for her to read and to give me feedback and criticism + going over the worst gramma mistakes that I'm sure there will still be a lot of (grinning - gramma's never really been my thing)

I'm a little worried though about letting someone else read what I've written. What if it actually sucks? What if she hates it? Should I just have kept it locked away in my computer for my eyes only?

No!!! I should not think like that. But it's always those thoughts that run through me whenever I think about letting someone else read it. Tomorrow I will mail it to her though and hope for the best - hope that it doesn't suck too much! (We're going to do one chapter at a time)

I know I have a long way to go but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I hope it will...

That was it for now - I'll let you know what she thinks when she gets back to me!!

Hugs

Revising round 2

I'm almost done with 1. round of revising and it's going really well. I do believe that the last part of the manuscript is much better written than the first part but duh... of course it is. The more I write, the better I get so that is kind of obvious...

I have been thinking about joining a class somewhere or a course that can teach me to become a better writer. You can alway learn something new, and since I'm so green in this business, I just want to suck in everything like a sponge.

Anyhow, back to revising. First round was just all the basics, like misspellings, rephrasing the worst parts and setting everything up so it's easier to read - (been writing like a mainac so the layout wasn't really anything to brag about)
It's much better now, and much easier to read with double spacings and bigger font sizes and such.

In round two, I will dig deeper into the whole story. The first part of the manuscrip will definitely have to go through some redecorating. It is said that agents and publishers only read something between the first 30 pages and the first 3 chapters so obviously I'll have to make that part fantastic (just like the rest) and really catch someone's attention.

I have been browsing the Net for agents too (just a little out of curiosity) and I have found a few that sounds interesting and I'll definitely be sending Magical Moon to them. Especially one in London sounds just perfect - only thing is, she doesn't accept any manuscripts at the moment but hopefully that'll change during the next couple of months. I hope surely so cause she's perfect!!

Anywho! That's that. Gotta get back to working.

See y'all soon.

Promoting

I have been very busy today. Started the day with watching a couple of episodes of "Supernatural" just to get in the mood you know, and then moved on to revising Magical Moon.

I'm almost through the first round of rough editing. It's a lot of work, like I've probably mentioned before, but even though the progress is slow, it is very rewarding.

So, I went along and made a group at Facebook today trying to promote Magical Moon. I know it's not nearly done yet, but why not be at the forfront of things.. Might even be easier to get an agent that way - who knows? And if nothing else, maybe I'll get some more followers here (crossing my fingers)

And getting an agent can be pretty hard. I've been looking online trying to figure out how to get one so I can get Magical Moon published.
And I'll tell you what! It's a pretty darn tough business....
I will have my work cut out for me once Magical Moon is done!

To all of you who find your way to my blog - welcome :-)

Revising

So, I've finished the book but that doesn't mean that I'm done working!!

Revising is a pretty hard job. It takes a hell of a lot of time.

I got some pretty cool revising advices from already established writers the other day - including one of my favorite writers, Faith Hunter - at magicalwords.com.

Magicalwords.com is a wonderful website where a few writers blog together. They talk about a lot of cool stuff and their own experiences. It's a big help for some one new like myself.

I'm so excited :-) Faith Hunter comented on my comment on both facebook and on magicalwords.com the other day. - Made my day :-D

There is no doubt about it that this is not the only book I'm going to write. I just hope they will be good enough to publish. As you can hear, I doubt my own skills a bit - with this being my first try at this and all - but i hope with time I can become just as good as Faith and all the other writers out there.

Well, must get back to work.. Want to finish you know and get to the next level - getting an agent. I have absolutely no idea how to do that though but I'm sure I will find out :-) I'm not one for giving up!!

Remember Me

OMG... I just got home from the Danish pre-premiere on Remember Me starring the lovely and gorgeous Robert Pattinson - Yes, I'm a huge fan ;-)
It was the best movie I'd seen in a really long time. It was funny, serious and extremely real and it ended with a twist.
So sad, that I couldn't prevent the tears from escaping my eyes in the end.
I completely and utterly LOVED IT...
I can only recommend you all to go watch it. It's so worth it!!

About my book..
As I mentioned last I blogged, I have finished the first draft. Now, I'm editing and rewriting.
I have done 5 chapters so far - aaaand not entirely happy about them yet but I'll get there I'm sure.

I've also decided on a name - well almost anyway.
It's either going to be
Magical Moon or Witching Hour
What do you think???
Of course you don't know what it's about yet, so it may be a little difficult for you to help me decide, but please tell me which one you think sounds best...

Book 1 done!

Guys, I cannot believe it.

I just put the last period in my book. It is done... (the first draft anyway)
Now, the process of rereading, rewriting and editing can begin, and then it is off to my best friend to be read and judged!!!

I said I would finish before Easter and I did :-) one night before ha ha... Do I know to keep a deadline or what???

I will put the book aside the next two days and not look at it at all (no probably not but I ought) and begin the editing process on Tuesday.

I hope you're all as excited as I am.

I alredy have a plan for the second book in the Holly Taylor serie (Yes that's my main character's name) and it will be even more exciting and magical than this one...

Look out world... A new author may have been born!!!

2010-03-26

Worst day ever!!!

I had the worst day ever yesterday.

I woke up to a sunny warm day - lovely
Got a phone call that Vestas want's me for an interview - lovely
But then everything went downhill from there.
The "Jobcentre" announced that they'd deleted me by mistake which then lead to me not getting any money for two whole days because of their mistake - So now I'm fighting them! I will not loose money because of their ignorence!!
Then I went to pick up the tickets for Remember Me with lovely Robert Pattinson :-)
And guess what! The movie theater had erased my booking by accident so now we're sitting in row 4...  :-(
Wish I'd stayed in bed yesterday!!!
AND I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO WRITE ANYTHING - sob sob sob!!!

Hopefully, today is going to be better
Today, I'm going to have the house full of cute girls celebrating Julie's 9th birthday. She is so excited that she woke up at 6am - yawn!!
Now, I'm off to make a birthday cake for them and set the table beautifully. The'll be here at noon.

If I've got any energy left, I will write tonight.
I've only got 2 chapters left to finish and then I'm done so I'm definitely going to finish before Easter - like i planned.
I'm so excited about this book. I really hope everyone will like it as much as I do.

Well, off to prepare for a birthday party.

Please follow me guys... I would love it if you did.

XOXO

Good books

I've read a couple good books this last week.

The first was: Midnight's Daughter by Karen Chance - I liked this book a lot. Karen has a fantastic way of writing and I got a lot of good ideas for my own book - not that I'm going to steal any of her, but I came up with some creatures of my own. I can't wait to read more of Karen's books and experience more of Dorina's wild and sexy world.

The second book was: Bloodring by Faith Hunter - This book was just as amazing as the first. Quite different though. I was blown away by the fantasy world she has created. I am totally in love with the seraphs and mages in her world. what magical book. I hope there is a second so I can follow this magical mage in her further voyage.

I have, as always, been on writing break during the weekend. I simply cannot concentrate enough when the kids are home.
I will however try to write a little tonight when I have tucked in the kids.
My fingers and mind ache. I feel like I'm about to explode if I don't get all these thoughts down, and I'm so afraid I might forget some of the fantasic ideas I've thought of.

I'm almost done with this book and I'm already thinking about the second - a follow-up!

I hope the rest of you are as excited as I am ;-)

XOXO

Keeping my head in the game

Hmm. my internet has been down all day... How annoying! On the other hand, it gave me an excuse NOT to surfe the net and concentrate on the book.

And it worked!! I almost finished yet another chapter. I'm so close to finishing the book that I can almost taste victory :-) It's a nice feeling to know that I'm actually going to accomplish something that I had never in a million years thought I would.

When i started writing, I just did it to get all my crazy weird thoughts out of my head and now, I'm actually going to succeed. AMAZING!!

I still hope I will be able to finish within the next two weeks so that I can spend Easter editing and rewriting a bit so that one of my best friends, who I would trust with my life, Gitte can read it - and hopefully like ;-)
Her opinion means the world to me!!

So, to reach my goal, I'm going to keep my head in the game, focus on my goal...

TRUE BLOOD

I really should be getting to bed, but I just wanted to let you guys know that you should watch True Blood - It's a crazy bad ass TV-show with vampires!!!

Nothing like you've ever seen before...

I just watched the first two seasons and I'm completely hooked :-)

OMG you are missing some serious shit if you're not watching it. This show must mess with a lot of people's heads... Blood everywhere and lots and lots of crazy sex scenes!!!

It's incredible that they allow this show in the US with them always censoring everything!!!

If you have the chance, watch it!! You will not regret it - unless vampires, blood and sex creeps you out ;-)

God I'm all wired up. I can't wait for season 3 to air in June...

I'm just saying: watch it, watch it, watch it !!!

XOXO  :-D

2010-03-05

WOW!!!!

I just finished writing another nerve-racking chapter in my book. OMG... It made my heart race and I could not write fast enough to follow up with the thoughts I had.

I could see the whole scene in my head like if I was watching a movie. All I needed wast the sound effects and the scary music in the background for it to be real right here in my living room  :-)

I seriously hope people will love it as much as I do already... But then again, this is my first book, my little baby and of course I am obligated to love it. However, I think I will feel this way with any book I might write in the future too.

I want to tell you guys about it so badly, but have made a pact with myself to keep the story a secret untill I finsish writing it.
Only then, will I be open about its content - but not too open 'cause I don't want anyone to steel my story ;-) If you get my drift!!!

I'm so excited. I have only 5 chapters to finish - unless I add one or two.

Guys, you will not have to wait much longer now...
Or, maybe you do 'cause I heard that it took both J. K . Rowling and Stephenie Meyer a lot of hard work and quite a long time to get their bookes published! And theirs are amazing...
(Not that I could ever compare myself with these goddesses)

I suppose patience is the key word...

I will not give up though. Someone out there will want to publish it, I'm sure!! There are a lot of books crappier than mine that have been published... so PATIENCE... :-D

(You do know I'm talking mostly to myself right? Those of you who know me well, knows that patience doesn't come easy to me!)

Enough writing for today.. My house looks like a war zone. Got to go do some chores :-(

2010-03-02

I lay awake last night thinking if I one day may be so lucky to see my book (or books) on shelves in bookstores and libraries.
I wonder what that would feel like? I suppose I would be so proud that I would be bursting from joy.
Perhaps it can be compared with a singer hearing his/her song on the radio for the first time.
If or when that might happen to me, do not doubt that I will let everyone know excatly what I felt the excact moment I pulled my own book from a shelf.

Hmm... This is just me pondering. Don't mind me...
Though, it is quite exciting to be thinking about.

I'm not looking for fame or any kind of approval, just trying to be myself and do the best I can. And the is really just what anybody can do isn't it?
So, if I never get a book published, I guess I'm not cut out to be a writer, but it would be nice to see people like something I have made.
To read MY book!

And fyi, everything is going smoothly. I just finished yet another chapter yesterday and is starting on my 15th today. Great isn't it? I think so a least.

Well, best be off to work - it would be nice if I could spend Easter editing and rewriting :-)

xoxo to you all

This week has been completely crazy for me...

It's the winter holiday and the kids are home. The last couple of days we went to Copenhagen to go to this Lego fair - Lego World... What a disappointment... We only stayed 4 hours and then we had enough. There were just too many people and not enough staff to deal with the visitors. I had to stand in line for more than an hour just to get us something to eat!! It was horrible. - The lego was great though. They had built some amazing scenes...Marcus was totally into the whole Star Wars theme the had going...

I haven't had time to write anything on the book - well, I haven't been in the mood for it. We got home from Copenhagen last night and I was completely burned out. I'm not used to driving so far...
While we were gone, I got my other Vampire Diaries book and I have done almost nothing but read it all day today.. It is infectious and I simply cannot put it down... I read the first book already (The fury) and i was horrified when Elena - the main character - died. How can there be too or three more books without her??? So I cheated and leafed through the other book quickly without really reading anything but found out that she is still in the story - just as a ghost!! That made me feel a little better... But I don't think it will be the same thougth. Not without the lovestory that has been going on between her and Stefan...

If you havn't read the books, you really should... They are... well, infectious :-)

I may not write anything on my boot tomorrow either because my car broke down and I have to go get it fixed and then I have a party to go to tomorrow night.. Not really in the mood for it now but hopefully I will be tomorrow...

Got to go do my nails for tomorrow but just wanted to let you know I'm still alive ;-)

2010-02-12

Oh I feel pretty darn good about myself now. Just wrote 7 pages on chapter 14 tonight. That is aprox. 2100 words guys...

The last couple of days have been awfull. I have been sick with something that reminded me of the flue but I don't think it was the flue because it is almost over now. Maybe it was just one of those 24 hour bugs??? Anyways I feel much better now.

I may not get to write much tomorrow - or at least not untill tomorrow night anyways... I find it difficult to write on the weekends when the kids are home. I simply cannot concentrate the same way I can when I'm alone... which leaves me with evening writing...

Anyhow... Just wanted to let you know I was fine and still working on the book...

I am off to bed now.

xoxo

2010-02-11

YES!!! I finished chapter 13 :-) and I think it turned out pretty good. I am very proud of myself... Even if my book never gets to be published I will still be proud because at least I think it is turning out pretty good if I may say so myself :-)

I got the first "The Vampire Diaries" book the other day, and I'm already done reading it. It is a double book (1. and 2. book in one) and it is nothing like the TVseries...
Some of the Characters are right - like the main characteres but a lot has been changed on TV - which doesn't make it wors at all... I like the TVseries very much and is just as excited about it as I am about the books.
The books however, are not as well written as The Twilight saga books that Stephenie Meyer has written - but they are okay... No, okay is not a good enough word. They are exciting and very hard to put down...

Well, it's late and I got to go to bed. Just wanted to let everyone know I was still alive and well - and extremely excited about my own book :-)

Caio - xoxo

2010-02-09

Yesterday I finished chapter 12 and now I'm almost halfway through chapter 13. It is amazing how much I can get done when i want to...

I watched an episode of The Vampire Diaries last night and could not stop laughing when Damon, aka Ian Somerhalder, was reading New Moon and said "What is with this Bella girl? Edward is so whipped"

Don't get me wrong, I love Twilight, but that was just funny :-)

I'm waiting impatiently for the mailman. I got a mail yesterday that Saxo.com had sent my first book of the vampire diaries so I'm hoping it will come today...

Well, this is it for now. Must get on with the writing if I want to finish by Easter ;-)

Later!!!

2010-02-07

Exactly like I predicted, I am spending Sunday on the couch tending to the aftershock of last nights fun :-) Lots of movies and sleep will do the trick I think..

Tomorrow, I will work hard on my book because I feel like I have neglected it :-( I will work seriously hard on it all next week. I hope to finish at least two chapters.

I won't write much more today - hope you understand my reasons lol. But before I go, I will just send my wishes and thoughts to my loving friend Annika who's birthday is today :-) I love you and miss you girl...

xoxo

2010-02-05

Wow what a day...

We finished the course on Sunset with sandwiches - it was really nice and I loved the gift I got from Helle and Birgit. Thanks guys... Love ya..

Been out shopping for the birthday party tomorrow - lots of cake :-)

And my friend did my eyebrows - ouch :-( I suck at pain... I feel so sore now but at least the redness is gone by now. I will look awesome tomorrow :-) Pain = beauty... (sometimes)

Unfortunately, I will not be able to write on my book till monday. Having a birthday is a lot of work. I will have to clean the house, bake and prepare for familiy for afternoon tea and friends for party at night...
And hopefully the party is going to be so great that I will end up with hangovers Sunday ;-)

Monday I am going to dedicate to book writing... (unless my mother gets me a ticket to this amazing fair that's in town)

BTW, everyone who loves the Twilight and The Vampire Diaries books will love my book - I hope... And if you havn't read any of the two series - you really should...

Got to go for now

XOXO...

2010-02-04

Countdown, T-2 days to my birthday :-)

I'm looking really forward to my birthday party on Saturday night... We are going to have so much fun and I am going to make a bunch of birthday cakes (layer cakes - the kind we use here in DK as birthday cakes) You will be able to see pictures on facebook later if you follow me there.

I havn't been able to write anything on the book today because I have been cleaning the house. I want to write really bad but unfortunately, I also have responsibilities that comes first. Book writing comes 2nd sadly.

However, tomorrow is the last day of the job searching course I'm in, so from monday, I have all day to write again - when I have looked for a job online first though...
My plan is to spend one hour searching for jobs every day and then write the rest of the day. If I do not get a job within the next couple of months, I will be able to write quite a lot - I have the whole plan for the last part of my book in my head and all I need to do is to get it down on paper - well, on the computer that is!

I will do my best to finish the book before Easter (as I mentioned yesterday) so that I can spend Easter editing and revising together with my best friend Gitte who has promised to help me. It all comes down to her... If she likes it, I will try to find a publishing house that wants to publish it...
I heard that I should get an agent first, so maybe that's the way, I really don't know...

OMG.. that was quite a mouthful... I hope you don't mind :-)

Till next time...

XOXO Annette

2010-02-03

I had a very productive day yesterday..

Had the day off from the course I'm currently attending and wrote 7 pages on my book. (That's about 2000 words in my case)
I have decided that each page should contain an average of 300 words. I have looked in the many books I have read and found that 300 words was the average so that's what I'm using too.
Up ontil now, I have 12 chapters. I want each chapter to be at least 20 pages of 300 word, and I want at least 20 chapter. So, you can see that I still have quite a lot of work to do.

Thoughts were flying out of my head yesterday and I could hardly stop. I only stopped because I had to go pick up the kids. I hope I will finish around Easter. That could be pretty cool. But, if I don't, then you will just have to wait a little longer to read it. ;-)
And hopefully you will get to read it because I hope it will be so good that a publishing house will publish it... That is my dream anyway!!!

About the snow storm that was supposed to hit Denmark yesterday - well, It didn't hit where I live. Yes, we got a lot of snow but it certainly was no storm!!!
I still loved all the snow though. It makes me in such a good mood. I went down to the market yesterday afternoon and for the first time in years I wished i had a pair of skis.

Today, I am back in the course and tonight I have parents meeting, so sadly I may not write anything even though it itches in my fingers.

Till I write again...

xoxo

2010-02-02

It's the second day of my blog writing...

The snow is coming wildly down outside and the storm is over us which I think is amazing. I love the snow. It makes everything look fantastic and as if we're in a fairy tale... It may not be funny to walk around out side in the storm but from the safty of my house, it is beautiful.

This kind of weather makes my mind wander and the imaginary world in head come to life and I have the whole day planned. I am going to sit in front of my computer writing on my book.

Like Thomas Christensen says: "To become a good writer, you should: write every day, write, write some more, then write even more and then some...."

So I am going to do just that....

2010-02-01

Okay better get this show on the road... I have this amazing picture i really want to use as a background on my blog but I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it :-( My blog would be so cool, if I got that background instead of only the black... Can anyone help me with this??

So, first of all.. Hello everyone... I plan to use this blog as a journal/diary of some sort to let friends, family and basically everyone who want to know about me know how I am doing and what I am up to these days.

Starting today, this is my first day so I may not be pretty good at this yet, but I hope for now it will be bearable for you to read my thoughts.

I have started on something that might seem like a huge project to some but to me, it comes kind of naturally. In November, I started writing a book and by now, I have gotten pretty far - actually I'm halfway through it. If anyone want to publish it when I'm done with it is going to be very exciting. Obvioiusly I hope so very much but life is unpredictable...

This blog will probably be about a lot of what I am going throug in connection to this book. If you find it exciting to see what it's all going to end up with, then please follow me :-)

Anyway... Be happy and do not forget to do something silly once in a while...

Welcome

Hello everyone

This is my first blog and I hope you will all welcome me :-)
You can all follow me at twitter where you can find me under the same name as here.

This is it for now; I will return shortly with more...
